Prior to his appointment as Director of the Illinois State Police, Grau was the Deputy Chief of the Cook County State's Attorney's Office of Investigations Bureau, where he oversaw the Narcotics/Special and Municipal Investigations Division. Five sergeants with the North Chicago Police Department have filed a formal complaint against North Chicago Police Chief Lazaro Perez (pictured), issued a vote of no confidence against him and called for his resignation or removal as chief.
