You'll fight weak, early-of-the-game enemies here - Skeletons, Bats and Tiny Devils. The first door that you come to below the save room to your left is your next target. The easiest way to defeat him at this point is to use the Medusa Head's soul, Vector ZERO, to hover near his eye, avoiding the ground fire and gaining a clear shot. Go through this door to enter a save room, where you can save your game and heal up. When he's finally about ¿ damaged, his other eye will open and he'll begin to shoot a fire beam along the ground that is also hard to avoid.

Boss: Balore

Balore is rather pesky… you'll want to make sure you have plenty of healing items with you before you proceed to fight him, because frankly, you'll need them. Balore is weak against Piercing and Slashing attacks (both attributes being easily obtainable at this point of the game) and shouldn't pose much of a threat. At the top of the room, you'll find a door going right into the next room. Work your way rightward until you come to a platform above the water that leads through the ceiling to the room above. At the end, you'll find a money bag sitting on a pedestal. Drop down to the bottom here, and head right. He has the same appearance and attacks from Dawn of Sorrow, only now faces the opposite direction, which may slightly confuse players who were familiar with his attacks in the previous game. When the foes are all slain, go right into the next room. Explore this room in its entirety, killing the Persephones and Lightning Dolls littering the area. With that said and done, go back right to the previous vertical corridor once more. You'll fight Mermen and Disc Armors along the way. You'll find the sword named Laevatain here. Bait and Switch Boss: The Giant Bat appears in Aria, only to be crushed by Balore. It's not in water and doesn't move on its own. Make sure to add it all to your map… and ignore the sword on the platform near the doorway out of the room - we can't get it. Make sure to explore the entire room to add it all to your map, then go left into the next room. Box Art. Up here, jump left and kill the Mermen as you head left. At the top of this area, head left into the next room. Once back in this room, kill the Slimes and Mandragora, and go left again into the next room. This room is very large. It's probably not worth equipping however. When you come to a room at your right (and you can still go upwards further), quickly swing right. Part of the Underground Reservoir we've been through already, but we'll now be able to explore it in its entirety. Its powerful fists will continue to grab at you and throw punches. To get to that door, take the various moving platforms up to that door, then go through it. In Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Soma Cruz has been chosen as the next incarnation of the dark lord Dracula. Back in this room, drop down, fighting or avoiding the various enemies. Instead, go down into the water below. This room is super long and super complex. Then go back to the previous room, and go left down the corridor there. Go right through this next corridor, killing Valkyries and Persephones as you go, and go right into the next room. Save your game and heal, then go left to the previous room, where you should probably battle the Bomber Armor and Slime again before proceeding upward. When the bodies finally shed, the ball in the center starts to bounce around and do its own thing. With that in hand, head back left to the previous room. Though, it's probably more dreaded for two of its other attributes: Its humongous size and its terrifyingly overmuscled limbs. In Dawn of Sorrow, you can find Excalibur, though it is rather humorously still stuck in the stone, since Soma isn't a reincarnation of King Arthur, but of Dracula. Boss - Balore This guy looks like some giant dwarf of some sort. Kill the Biphrons and Werejaguars, and then go left one more screen. There's no real need to warp anywhere at all right now, but we've at least added this to our map for now. This room is large, but nothing we haven't seen, so it doesn't merit more of a walkthrough for it. Re-fight the Man-Eater, then go right. Fall down to the bottom of this corridor, killing or avoiding all of the familiar foes in your way. When they are going up, cross over and grab the Rare Ring there, which increases luck and allows more rare items to appear from foes. Fight the Triton there and explore the rest of the room. Then, go right into the next room. First, go through the right exit out of this room, to the adjacent corridor.

. Kill the Dead Crusader and Skull Millione, and then head left into the next room. This time, go up and to the above area. You'll be in a tiny area of a room we can't get through into otherwise. Again be careful of the spikes as they come down. With that in hand, go back down to the previous room, the big room. This will show you the quickest way to get through the game, but that's about it. With that in hand, swim back to the surface after heading back left, fighting off the Needles and Fish Heads once more. While Legion or Balore may be fought in either order, there is less true nonlinearity than in SotN. With it, we can now go get the Ancient Book 2, and get a crapload of other stuff as well. 1967. His right eye has the ability to unleash a devastating energy beam (the Portrait of Ruin version is just an horizontal-swapped sprite of the one in Dawn of Sorrow, making him fire from his "left eye" instead). In the room to the right, await the spikes from the ceiling. While this small room has nothing but a new enemy in it (a worm enemy called a Giant Worm), we still need to add it to our map. The only aspect of Aria of Sorrow that is even intended to be original is the game's Soul-based magic system. Go through the corridor, and enter the castle's Arena. What we have to do is get the boat going and use it as a platform to get up to the platforms in the upper right side of the room so we can proceed onward. There's a lot enemy resistance in here in the form of Tritons, as well as two new enemies we've yet to encounter - Dragon Pillar-like enemies that function underwater (called Fish Heads) and Skeleton Knight-like enemies with shields (called Dead Crusaders). Balore's soul provides him with the Balore Punch ability, an extremely powerful punch attack, whilst the Giant Bat's soul grants him the ability to transform into a bat and fly. Go left, killing the Needles in your way, and into the next room there. Smash the right wall at the bottom of this ditch with your weapon to reveal a small room to the right of it.
